Juggernaut
A downloadable game for Windows
Juggernaut Syndrome, also known as Superhero Syndrome, is a phenomenon that arose out of turn based tactics games like Fire Emblem. In that series, the goal is to keep a roster of units alive for as many missions as possible, which is done in part by defeating enemies with those units to level them up.
A Juggernaut occurs when a player chooses to funnel all XP towards a single unit, over-levelling it to make it disproportionately powerful compared to the enemies you're encountering at that point in the game.
While the series has taken steps over the years to prevent Juggernauts, utilising systems, enemies and maps that penalise players for neglecting their other units, the concept is well known enough to have stuck around.
Which led me to a fun little thought experiment. What if all you have, is a Juggernaut. How much fun is the core loop of fighting your way through a level, if you're all alone.
Hopefully, your answer is "very". But I'll settle for "Kinda" right now, it's a prototype ;)
